Representation.

Representation is when something represents a stereotype. Not just groups of people can be stereotyped, locations and countries could also be stereotyped.

For example, you'd expect a teenage boy who skates to be rebellious and to have long hair. This is the typical stereotype for this type of person.

As previously stated locations and countries too are stereotyped. You would expect exotic places such as Hawaii and Barbados to be always be lovely weather, when in fact they get tropical storms and sometimes it isn't as hot as expected to be.

Even alcoholic drinks can be suited to a group of people, for example Stella Artois is widely stereotyped to "chavs" and lower class citizens. It is also known as 'wife beater' as it's cheap and it's really quick to get intoxicated off of it.

  1. Give actual examples of media products and remove your Stella discussion because it is incorrect because it doesn't have that stereotype anymore. Again like all your posts this very brief.
